Our Story - NDPHS

Our Story

In the Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being (NDPHS), we connect minds for healthy lives. The Partnership consists of countries from the Baltic Sea Region and Northern Europe as well as several International Organisations (Read more).

Our vision is to lead the way to sustainable and inclusive societies with equal opportunities for good health and wellbeing for all throughout the life course.

Our mission is to provide an inclusive cross-sectoral platform for health advocacy.

We bring together like-minded public health enthusiasts to share knowledge, learn from each other and care for people through health advocacy. In other words, we strengthen professional connections, share and co-create knowledge, and develop joint activities related to people’s health and well-being.

The NDPHS functions as the Coordinator of the Policy Area ‘Health’ of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.

In its work, the Partnership is guided by knowledge and promotes the following values:

  • Inclusiveness and equality,
  • Trust and respect,
  • Practicality and agility.

NDPHS Visual Story

In 2021 NDPHS developed a new visual identity. The concept is inspired by embroidery, traditional weaving, and characteristic folk patterns that are uniquely associated with the Northern-Baltic Sea Region. Despite being contemporary, geometric shapes and lines evoke nostalgic memories of warm sweaters, cozy scarves, and traditional blankets.

The threads are intertwined with each other just as partner countries work together to create a strong and efficient partnership. Connecting together they form the „X” sign, which is commonly used as a symbol of collaboration.

The colour palette with shades of blue creates a resemblance to water and snow that are so common across the area combined with warm ruby red associated with a human touch and health.

NDPHS Brand Guidelines

Usage of the NDPHS logo by parties other than the NDPHS Partners is subject to authorisation. Requests for permission should be sent to the NDPHS Secretariat at info@ndphs.org in advance.

Visual identity was developed in collaboration with a branding studio Podpunkt (Poland) as a part of an EU grant project More impact together to empower Northern Stakeholders (MITTENS).
