In 2000: the newborns in the Municipality of Petrozavodsk;
2001 - 2002: the newborns in rest of the Republic of Karelia;
People at risk of Hepatitis B, especially newborns of mothers with Hepatitis B
In the year 2000, approximately 2000 children from Petrozavodsk will be vaccinated against Hepatitis B; each will receive three doses. In the years 2001 and 2002, all 7000 newborns in the Republic of Karelia are planned to be covered by this immunisation programme. The project will fund these tasks, and also make use of existing regional health care infrastructure and some Russian Federation funding.
In total approximately 16 000 children will be reached by this project.
