To create safe working conditions and prevent nosocomial infections in hospitals it is needed to reconstruct the wards for treatment of MDR-TB in the Regional prison hospital for the intensive phase of treatment and Puksa prison hospital for the continuation phase of treatment.
The reconstruction include improved sanitary conditions for the prisoners,- ventilationsystem with HEPA extractors,- cosmetic improvements,- electric works,- kanalization works etc.
The wards for MDR-TB patients should be reconstructed as an infection control measure. The wards will be divided into an infectious zone for the MDR-TB patients and a non-infectious zone for the staff, separated by a sluse with negative airpressure in the infectious zone. The staff should wear 3M masks and special clothes when entering the infectious zone. The infectious zone will be divided into two entities separated by a sluse according to the Smear negative or positive status of the patient.
Measures of infectious control, realized at present in the Regional UIN hospital , where TB cases are treated.
